Generally, I do not chat, therefore, I'm not accustomed to "chat" style writing. I usually make every effort to write in a business-style professional manner and this is the direction I took when writing in my blog.
I believe that your writing style and what you write says a lot about you as an individual. You never know who is reading what you write, where they are reading it, and why. The way you write becomes a habit, so why not develop a good one!
Additionally, I'm very careful about the kinds of pictures I put out about myself and my family. On this particular blog site, I haven't put up any pictures, for lack of time I guess. But I recently changed my profile picture to one that is more professional looking.
Blogs are meant to be little everyday snippits of information, whatever caught your attention that day, and as means of communtiy, albeit, one-way. You're in control of all the information and can set your privacy accordingly. This is a very idea, given the recent article on "who's googling you?".
